Choose a Connection Type, Wi-Fi, and Create. Under Wi-Fi you should see one and only one listing of your network's name (SSID). This connection was automatic (i.e., no driver installation), but you do have to go through some network connections software of the Mint OS. To gain wifi signal via the external Panda adapter (index 2) I had to click on the wifi icon in the Notification Area of my panel and then select Enable Wi-Fi.
